Fly By June Marieezy book cover design explanation
In the book cover design a butterfly is the main focus and the title 'fly' is designed to be the body connected to the wings.
why butterfly? because butterfly is a metamorphosis which can change from a caterpillar to a magnificent butterfly -strong, free and able to fly. This sense of change and becoming free and stronger and more beautiful, this is why it is chosen to represent the character's transformation into a stronger and inspired after she flew away to a place of freedom and joy. this is about a girl with a broken dream leaving a city that left her empty . jetting off to a new place that inspired her , with sunkissed air, topical wind, sunset beach, wooden, boats, golden sandy beach. Sunset beach she is living off the dream , under the sun she can fly.#

Sulawesi Travel Information
source: http://wikitravel.org/en/Sulawesi
Sulawesi (formerly Celebes) is one of the main islands of Indonesia, and the 11th largest island in the world. With four spindly arms spinning outward, Sulawesi's spidery shape is easily recognizable. This enormous island has much to offer the visitor from extraordinary unique cultures, to an under-explored mountainous hinterland, and several truly world class diving spots. The Togian Islands and Una Una offers a great diving experience in a remote island under the coconut trees.
Southern Sulawesi (Makassar, Tana Toraja)
the provinces of South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi; the largest city on the island, the land of Bugis and the unique culture of Tana Toraja
South East Sulawesi (Kendari, Wakatobi)
remote hinterland and truly world class diving offshore
Central Sulawesi (Palu, Lore Lindu National Park, Togian Islands, Una Una)
a region sadly known for its ethnic strife; very off-the-beaten-path diving
Northern Sulawesi (Manado, Bitung, Gorontalo, Tomohon, Bunaken)
the land of the Minahasa and yet more world-class diving at perhaps Indonesia's best known dive spot
Cities
History
The earliest settlement of South Sulawesi by humans is dated to c. 30,000 BC. No earlier evidence of human occupation has been found, but the island almost certainly formed part of the land bridge used for the settlement of Australia and New Guinea.
In Central Sulawesi there are over 400 granite megaliths, which various archaeological studies have dated to be from 3000 BC to 1300 AD.
The first Europeans to visit the island were Portuguese sailors in 1525, sent from the Moluccas in search of gold. The Dutch arrived in 1605 and were quickly followed by the English, who established a factory in Makassar. In 1905 the entire island became part of the Dutch state colony of the Netherlands East Indies until Japanese occupation in World War II. Following the transfer of sovereignty in December 1949, Sulawesi became part of the federal United States of Indonesia, which in 1950 became absorbed into the unitary Republic of Indonesia.
Religion
Sulawesi's tough terrain, massive size (174,600 km²) and great marine traditions, have combined to cause a wildly divergent set of peoples and cultures, speaking eight major languages and professing Muslim, Christian, Hindu and animist beliefs (not to mention various mixes thereof).
Islam is the majority religion in Sulawesi. The conversion of the lowlands of the south western peninsula in South Sulawesi to Islam occurred in the early 17th century. Most Sulawesi Muslims are Sunnis.
Christians form a substantial minority of about 19% on the island. Christians are concentrated on the tip of the northern peninsula around the city of Manado and around Poso in Central Sulawesi. The famous Toraja people of Tana Toraja in Central Sulawesi have largely converted to Christianity since Indonesia's independence.
Though most people identify themselves as Muslims or Christians, they often subscribe to local beliefs and deities as well. It is not uncommon for Christians to make offerings to local gods, goddesses, and spirits.
Sulawesi has been plagued by Muslim-Christian violence in recent years. The most serious violence occurred between 1999 and 2001 on the once peaceful island.
Itineraries
The area around Tana Toraja is a fascinating one and well worth a visit. The Torajans are Christians but still maintain strong connections to their Indigenous culture and religion. Locals welcome visitors to take part in their elaborate funeral ceremonies which are interesting but involve animal sacrifices and are not for the squeamish.
Buy Ikat weaving is Sulawesi's best-known craft, with different styles all around the island.
Eat Sulawesi cuisine is quite varied, but the best-known is Manadonese cuisine from the north, an interesting mix of Dutch influences, incredibly spicy chillies and unorthodox ingredients like bat and dog.
TRANSPORTATION
Get in :By plane Sulawesi's main port of entry is Makassar, which has frequent flights throughout the archipelago. Manado acts as a secondary hub, with some interesting connections eastward to Halmahera and Papua. Both airports are international airports with visitor-on-arrival facilities, with international flights to Kuala Lumpur from Makassar, and to Singapore from both airports.
Get around:By plane The sheer size of Sulawesi and the poor state of its roads make plane the transportation method of choice. Flights radiate out from Makassar and Manado to all points on the island.
By bus The Trans-Sulawesi Highway winds for over 1900 km from Makassar to Manado. Despite the grand name, the road is narrow, twisty, spottily paved and dangerous.
Bus travel is very good from Makassar to Tana Toraja, however the quality diminishes considerably if you intend venturing on to the Togean Islands.

The mountain represents the land attractions including several iconic tourist attractions like tangkoko national park with amazing biodiversity, also the unique landscape of karst mountain in rammang rammang and many more greenery mountain landscapes in the island of sulawesi. Why is there a sun like circle above the mountain firstly it can be seen as a sunset which is one of the most beautiful view to see in sulawesi , on the other hand it can also be seen as the period breaking dawn where the sun is peeking out of the mountains this is also a fantastic and spectacular view t enjoy. There is also a meaning of never ending and hopefulness in this sun design as sun bring brightness and warm to human thus it is used to welcome the tourist with heart warming vibes. Where as the wave is simplified into graphic element of two curve line as a symbol of ocean wave. As sulawesi underwater world is full of amazing wonders like coral reef and unique marine animals . It also has world’s best diving spots in the world. Which is also the main tourist attraction that people need to know more about. The colors
Emerald green is used as the main color for the font and the mountain, it is the beautiful color of the flora in the island, the greenery of the tropical forest on mountains and the colors of the swaying coconut trees around the beach all showing the beautiful color of greenery. Emerald green is also a very clean and pristine green color thus it is used describe the iand of sulawesi. The light blue color of the wave is to show the clean and clear blue ocean water, as the light blue color gives out a soft and clean and bright feeling , shows the water there is very clear and unspoiled. The orang color is to show the color of the sun. As the three elemenfs of mountain ocean and sky overall nature really represents the island sulawesi showing its most pristine wonder.

final poster
For the poster series i have decided to based it on the theme " exploring sulawesi nature's wonder" as it connects well with the tageline nature's wonder land, poster one for exploring the land wonder in togian islands which provided tropical rainforests and volcano with unique biodiversity, flora and fauna. Poster two for diving in to marine wonder in bunaken diving heaven which provides great diving experience with world's best corals and colorful marine ecosystem. Since sulawesi is a land of pristine beauty and unexplored wonders. The poster is design to promote it and persuade people to come and visit. By showing the beauty in a layout like unveiling the unknowns as the it opened up from illustration to a picture image at the background. Like in the poster one the telescope opened up and reveal a beautiful image of togian island, the flowy shape and line shows direction and guide reader to read from down to up. While the poster2 has a diver diving down and opened up to a beautiful marine world full of corals and fish , shows the direction from up to down , and a contrast and hierarchy guiding the reader to read the information text from above to the attractive picture at the bottom.

final concept explanation
Rebranding city of Sulawesi
Chosen concept: tourism
Final concept explanation:
The concept tourism is chosen because the tourism in sulawesi is still lacking in promotion as people don’t really know much about the place yet, thus i really want to promote its beautiful wonder to people. The island of sulawesi is filled with marine and land beauty including world’s best diving spots and unique flaura and fauna. Such as diving spots in Bunaken, Bitung, lembeh strait Wakatobi park. Whereas the land wonders include rammang rammang karst, tangkoko national park, lore lindo national park and more. The most representative element of the island is their nature’s beauty gifted from god. It is an island afterall thus rhe logo is designed to have mountains and ocean waves representing the island. And really showing people the island’s beauty.
What is the purpose and function of the concept:
The main purpose and function of the concept is to promote the tourism of sulawesi, as tourists are still lacking of knowledge about the island’s beauty. Thus the concept is to really persuade tourists to come and visit sulawesi thus increasing job opportunities and economical income for the island. Since the concept purpose is to promote the island’s tourism especially on the beautiful nature’s wonders, thus the design is very welcoming and bright and family friendly as the target market is mainly family for tropical vacations and paradise gateaway.
Benefits of promoting the island through this concept tourism and Who will benefit from the concept?
The benefits are to increase tourism rate in the island thus increasing job opportunities and economical income for the island. Since sulawesi is still considered as a low economical developed city , it will really benefit the locals by promoting their nature beauty through tourism to increase their income and thus improving their lifestyles. With the economical benefit they gain from the tourism they can improve their education systems and roads and daily life essentials. And the tourism can also bring other opportunities for the place as being known to the world as one of the best diving spot or others. Therefore the benefits are countless and never ending.
Drawbacks of the concept tourism and ways to solve it or minimize it
The disadvantages of tourism is that when tourists come they might cause pollution and litter to the environment and might damage the once unspoiled nature beauty. However this can be minimized by educational talks and campaigns in each tourists attraction site to tell the tourists to not litter and pollute the environment. Such as not stepping or corals while diving and more which can be told on the website or brochure.
